After yesterday's taste test of Egg Nog, I should have known the rest of the weekend would be filled with funny - only Ellie would appreciate!
She and I spent lots of time cleaning and rearranging her room and her play area in the basement. It was time to weed through the old, and sort items into either a keep, give-away or trash pile. It was great to show her that toys and books that she has 'outgrown' will find a new home with a child younger and appreciative of them.
And the awesome part is she keeps saying how much she loves things so organized. That must be her father in her! It has left lots of opportunity to use things she hasn't seen in a while … and perhaps a couple of empty spaces for more age-appropriate Christmas gifts!
She also went with me on several errands. We were at the mall for a quick stop yesterday, the library and today was two grocery stores. From the photo you can see she loves to have fun no matter where she goes.
The weekend is winding down with our traditional Sunday afternoon meal of homemade pasta with shrimp scampi! She really wanted a second bowl of pasta, but was afraid she wouldn't have room for apple pie later. Smart girl, huh?
