Sharing
I love the fact that I get to see Ellie experience things for the first time. Sometimes they are huge things - like first day at school, singing on stage, riding her bike with no training wheels - and other times they are small, one might think insignificant events.
When it comes to Ellie, nothing is insignificant. She loves. She loves signing, she loves eating, she loves laughing … So today's 'first time' event was her trying egg nog. I know, not a big deal. But it really was.
I found the local Kroger is stocking Hood Egg Nog, and was thrilled to bring home a quart of a new flavor to share with the family. Caramel Egg Nog just could not disappoint. So today I poured '3 fingers' worth in a glass for the family to share … picture us rationing something really good!
Well, she loved it. In fact even after the fact, when she and I were off to do errands she was still talking about it.
"What was that again, Mommy?'
"Its called Egg Nog. And it's made by a company Daddy used to work for."
"You mean Daddy can make EGG NOG?"
"No, I said he worked there, he didn't make the egg nog."
"Mommy, when we get home and we have some more?"
Oh dear, just like crab legs, sushi and cannolis, this girl has rich taste!
