| The view outside my office. We gave away all those balloons! |
This weekend, Sep 13th and 14th was my first "manager on duty"weekend. For the most part that means that I spend the day in the office with the handful of Supervisors who lead the Representatives who answer the phones for all the Agents' offices that are closed. As you can imagine lots of people buy cars on Saturdays .. so we call Saturday "Game Day!"
I work 9-5 and spend no time sitting down .. it's walking the floor, answering questions, helping folks find things and overall just keep up morale. And each Manager on Duty is encouraged to find a theme to build excitement.
This weekend was themed after the recently released State Farm commercial with Aaron Rogers featuring Hans and Franz from the old Saturday Night Live skits.
We had a "Pump You Up" weekend and pumped up hundreds of balloons and gave them away with every auto policy a representative was able to bind. Additionally we walked around with buckets of bubble gum to 'pump them up' too!
We had a lot of fun .. and it was exhausting! And from the miles I logged on my FitBit by body was as tired as my mind by the time I got home! But worth it nonetheless - a great day with a great group of co-workers who are becoming like family!
| That's over 16,000 steps in one day. My normal goal is 10,000! Which tracked at almost 7 miles .. just walking around the office! |
