We hosted the Knapp family this weekend at our house. They arrived Friday in time for dinner - steaks, baked potatoes, asparagus. "Chickies" and fries for Lucas and Ellie as requested. A very late night for everyone with lots of laughter and fun .. and so many Wii games! Saturday Bill and B took Jacob to the UVA v. North Carolina Mens' Basketball game. Lori and I headed to the Downtown Mall with Adam, Lucas and Ellie. It was a cold, windy day so we found our lunch spot quickly .. a great kids' place called Eppie's with a terrific local menu! Ellie had her first Fluffernutter sandwich .. and I had granny smith apple slices with brie on whole grain bread with a side of sweet potatoes (to share with Ellie!) It was delicious! Then we headed to the Charlottesville Discovery Museum. The kids ran and played for a couple hours as we happily took a seat. We saw old friends from the dowtown City Market (originally from Albany!) and two of Ellie's friends from school .. Emma and Abby.
What a nice visit we had. The kids get along like siblings .. and respond like they've just had a sleepover .. not enough sleep and too much junk to eat. It was wonderful to all be together again - and to have the opportunity to host at our house!
Next adventure with the Knapps ... Water Park in Williamsburg, VA at the end of the month!
